The Little Free Library at Bucklin Beach.

Tracy Little Free Library is now at Bucklin Beach in time for the start of the summer season! Its design was inspired by Tracy Memorial Library’s historic building; it was constructed by Bill Bastille and painted by Sonia Garre, and both are library employees. The Recreation and Public Works departments also helped! Funding is thanks to Friends of Tracy Library.

There are 80,000 Little Free Libraries worldwide. The popular program grew out of one person’s desire to honor his schoolteacher mother in 2009. A year later, the small neighborhood book exchange became the nonprofit organization known as Little Free Library.

A Little Free Library is a “take a book, return a book” free book exchange. Anyone may take a book or bring a book, with the understanding that people are sharing their favorite books with their community. Please visit Tracy Little Free Library when you are at Bucklin Beach!
